1.       RIDE A WATER BIKE - Simon’s Town
Cape Town Water Bikes is a new way to experience the Simon’s Town coast. Hop on one of the world’s most advanced water bikes and get pedaling for a different perspective.

44.   VISIT AFRICA’S LARGEST BIRD PARK - Hout Bay
Set on 4 hectares of tropical landscape in the Hout Bay valley, a mere 15 minutes from Cape Town city centre, World of Birds is Africa’s largest bird park with 3,000 birds and 400 species. Open from Monday to Sunday from 09:00 to 17:00, this is an affordable family day out allowing you the most intimate experience with nature.

45.   WATCH THE SUNSET FROM THE BACK OF AN ELECTRIC BICYCLE

59.   LEARN ABOUT DISTRICT SIX
Learn the significance of District Six in South African history.
When the apartheid government swooped on District Six in 1965, forcibly removing its residents and declaring the area a “whites-only” zone, the rich fabric of a disadvantaged but vibrant community was torn apart. In an effort to preserve the memories of District Six and create a monument to the thousands of people around the country forcibly relocated under apartheid, the District Six Museum Foundation was established in 1989. In 1994, the District Six Museum came into being. The museum is open from 09:00 to 13:00 on Mondays and 09:00 to 16:00 from Tuesdays to Saturdays.


60.   VISIT MUIZENBERG BEACH - Muizenberg
Make sure you visit Muizenberg beach. The popular sandy shoreline is a prime spot for surfing and features those well-known colourful changing booths that appear in many Cape Town tourist photos.

61.   VISIT RHODES MEMORIAL - Cape town
Check out Rhodes Memorial, which is located on the slopes of Devil’s Peak Mountain (at the University of Cape Town). This location offers great views of the city, and is also a chilled spot for selfies and relaxing with friends.

The Cape Town Diamond Museum is definitely one of the museums in Cape Town that you simply have to visit. It is a little hidden gem!

You can expect an intimate tour and learning experience when visiting the diamond museum. Fly a kite on Bloubergstrand’s beachfront. Or, if you don’t own a kite, just watch the sky fill with an array of shapes and sizes. Then pop over the and see the kitesurfers defy gravity with one of the best views of Table Mountain as a backdrop.

65.   HOT-AIR BALLOON OVER THE CAPE WINELANDS
Trains, trams and automobiles - there are many ways to experience the Cape winelands, but few that allow you to soar over them like a bird.
You’ll get to watch as the crew assembles your heat-powered flying machine, the very first technology that allowed humanity to take to the skies. Lift-off is at sunrise, but the early start is definitely worth it for the views you’ll be treated to as you float over the rolling vineyards and lush meadows that the winelands are so famous for.

The internal spiral staircase you will climb during the guided tour takes you up 100 feet from the bottom to the balcony. If the idea of climbing up all those steps gets you a bit nervous, rest assured that the views from the top are entirely worth it. The tour will leave you with all sorts of interesting facts including the reason for South Africa being one of the few remaining places to retain actual Light House Keepers.


68.   MAIDEN’S COVE BEACH AND BRAAI AREA - Camps Bay
A beautiful scenic lookout point, tucked between Glen Beach and Clifton Beach, is Maiden’s Cove. With vistas of Table Mountain, Camps Bay, and the exquisite Atlantic Ocean, Maiden’s Cove is the perfect spot for a day out with fantastic views. In spring, pods of whales and dolphins can also be spotted from this scenic beach. Splash around in a tidal pool, sunbathe, and be merry.

69.   VISIT THE SCRATCH PATCH - V&A Waterfront
Did you know that almost half of the world’s gemstones can be found in South Africa? Did you know that you could scratch for these gems yourself right here in Cape Town? The Scratch Patch and Mineral World at both the V&A Waterfront and in Simonstown is a cool way to dig for your own beautiful gems. You get to emerge yourself in all the stones that quite literally cover the floor, then visit the gem exhibitions and shops afterwards.


70.   PLAY SOME CAVE GOLF - V&A Waterfront
Everyone enjoys a game of putt-putt. At the Waterfront you can enjoy this activity in a cave-like setting! It’s fun for the whole family and it’s right next door to the Scratch Patch.


71.   BATTERY PARK
This is a new urban park that forms the gateway to the V&A Waterfront. It integrates Cape Town’s CBD and the V&A Waterfront through a series of pedestrian routes, including one alongside the canal. Visitors to the park are able to engage in a range of outdoor recreation, entertainment and retail activities in various levels of public spaces.

72.   CITY SIGHTSEEING CANAL & HARBOUR CRUISE - V&A Waterfront
This cruise gives you an amazing harbour cruise from the V&A Waterfront and around the harbour. It’s a fun adventure and it gives you the chance to admire mountain views from a unique angle.




73.   TAKE IN THE SIGHTS WITH A FREE WALKING TOUR - Cape Town

74.   SOAK UP AND RELAX ON THE CLIFTON BEACHES - Clifton Beaches
Clifton is the heart of Cape Town’s beach scene, pulsating with the energy of the bronzed and beautiful.

1st Beach
This is where many of the locals and old-timers go, is the least crowded, but lacks the cosy atmosphere of the other beaches as it is overlooked by exclusive beachfront apartments.

2nd Beach
This is considered the place to go for a few hours in the sun without too much hype.

3rd Beach
This is a popular beach full of all sort of trendy young people.

4th Beach
This is usually packed with trendy people but is also frequented by family groups, being closest to ablution facilities and parking areas. Clifton 4th Beach is a blue flag beach and one of South Africa's most popular and sought-after beaches. Visited by stars and the famous, 4th beach at Clifton is the in-scene. Be warned, the water is always icy-cold.

75.   DARLING BREW BEER TASTING - Woodstock
Located at 85 Albert Road, Woodstock - Darling Brew is one of South Africa’s first well established and award-winning microbreweries, as well as Africa’s first carbon neutral brewery. Visit them to try out different local beers and enjoy delicious food.

There are still more fun, exciting and affordable attractions and tour activities that I did not include in this list. These are just my favourite activities that I enjoy around the Western Cape and thought you would enjoy them too.
